| Abstract

| [Objective] To explore the effects of combination of Compound Congrong Yizhi Capsules and bloodletting at the twelve Jing-well points on cognitive function，oxidative stress，and hemorheology in patients with vascular dementia（VaD）after acute cerebral infarction. [Methods] From November 2021 to June 2023，120 patients with VaD after acute cerebral infarction admitted to our hospital were included and randomly divided into two groups via random number table method. The control group（60 cases）were treated with donepezil hydrochloride tablets，while the therapy group（60 cases）were treated with the union of compound Congrong Yizhi capsules and bloodletting at the twelve Jing-well points. The traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores，Mini Mental State Examination（MMSE）score，Activities of Daily Living（ADL）score，oxidative stress indicators，hemorheological indicators，and clinical efficacy before and after therapy were evaluated. [Results] After therapy，the MMSE score，ADL score，and serum superoxide dismutase （SOD）and glutathione peroxidase（GSH-Px）increased in both groups，the average blood flow velocities of the middle cerebral artery （MCA），basilar artery，and anterior cerebral artery（ACA）increased（P<0.05），and the therapy group had better changes than the control group（P<0.05）. The TCM syndrome scores，and serum malondialdehyde（MDA）reduced prominently in both groups（P<0.05）， and the therapy group had lower indicators than the control group（P<0.05）. The comparison of clinical efficacy between the therapy group and the control group [95.00%（57/60）vs. 80.00%（48/60）] showed a significant difference（P<0.05）. [Conclusion] The combination of Compound Congrong Yizhi Capsules and bloodletting at the twelve Jing-well points can improve cognitive function， regulate oxidative stress status，and optimize hemorheology in patients with VaD after acute cerebral infarction. |
