| Abstract
|
| Weichang’an Pills is composed of 10 medicinal ingredients including Aucklandiae Radix and Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum. It demonstrates therapeutic effects of resolving turbid dampness through aromatic properties, regulating qi to relieve pain, and strengthening stomach function to promote digestion, applicable for diarrhea, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, epigastric distension, and abdominal pain caused by damp-turbidity stagnation and food retention. The pill contains active components including naringin, hesperidin, and costunolide. Pharmacological studies reveal its dual regulatory effects on gastrointestinal motility, along with antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Clinical research confirms its efficacy in treating diarrhea, functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, and ulcerative colitis, demonstrating synergistic effects when combined with other medications. This article aims to review the chemical composition, pharmacological effects, and clinical applications of Weichang’an Pills, establishing foundations for further research on its pharmacodynamic material basis and mechanisms of action. |
