| Abstract
|
| Malignant tumors pose a significant threat to human health. Researchers have been extensively investigating the anti-tumor effects and underlying mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine. Current studies demonstrate that Polyphyllin exhibits potent anti-tumor activities through multiple pathways, including inducing tumor cell apoptosis, regulating cell cycle, triggering protective autophagy in tumor cells, inhibiting tumor cell invasion and metastasis, reversing drug resistance, and producing synergistic anti-tumor effects. This review comprehensively summarizes the anti-tumor mechanisms of Polyphyllin reported in the past decade based on literature from PubMed,Web of Science, and CNKI databases, while also evaluating its toxicity and safety profiles. The findings may provide valuable theoretical references for further development of Polyphyllin as a multi-target anti-tumor agent and its clinical applications in cancer treatment. |
