Abstract
[Objective] To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Xinkeshu Tablets in treating post-acute myocardial infarction(AMI) with heart failure and comorbid depressive symptoms. [Methods] A total of 120 patients with depression who developed heart failure after AMI were prospectively enrolled. Based on whether patients received Xinkeshu Tablets, they were divided into a treatment group(60 cases) and a control group(60 cases). The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment, while the treatment group received Xinkeshu Tablets(0.31 g per tablet,4 tablets per dose, three times daily) in addition to conventional Western medicine treatment. Both groups were treated for a period of 3 months. Pre- and post-treatment comparisons included left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),Minnesota living with heart failure questionnaire(MLHFQ) scores, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,Hamilton depression rating scale(HAMD),and patient health questionnaire-9(PHQ-9) scores. [Results] Compared with baseline, the treatment group showed greater improvement in LVEF(P<0.01) and greater reductions in MLHFQ scores, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,HAMD scores, and PHQ-9 scores(P<0.01). Compared with the control group, after 3 months of treatment, the treatment group exhibited greater improvement in LVEF(P<0.01),and significant reductions in MLHFQ scores, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,HAMD scores, and PHQ-9 scores(P<0.05). [Conclusion] On the foundation of conventional Western medical treatment, the use of Xinkeshu Tablets improves chest pain, chest tightness, and depressive symptoms in patients with heart failure complicated by depression, thereby enhancing quality of life.
