| Abstract
|
| [Objective] To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Xinkeshu Tablets in treating post-acute myocardial infarction（AMI） with heart failure and comorbid depressive symptoms. [Methods] A total of 120 patients with depression who developed heart failure after AMI were prospectively enrolled. Based on whether patients received Xinkeshu Tablets，they were divided into a treatment group（60 cases） and a control group（60 cases）. The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment，while the treatment group received Xinkeshu Tablets（0.31 g per tablet，4 tablets per dose，three times daily） in addition to conventional Western medicine treatment. Both groups were treated for a period of 3 months. Pre- and post-treatment comparisons included left ventricular ejection fraction（LVEF），Minnesota living with heart failure questionnaire（MLHFQ） scores，traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores，Hamilton depression rating scale（HAMD），and patient health questionnaire-9（PHQ-9） scores. [Results] Compared with baseline，the treatment group showed greater improvement in LVEF（P＜0.01） and greater reductions in MLHFQ scores，traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores，HAMD scores，and PHQ-9 scores（P＜0.01）. Compared with the control group，after 3 months of treatment，the treatment group exhibited greater improvement in LVEF（P＜0.01），and significant reductions in MLHFQ scores，traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores，HAMD scores，and PHQ-9 scores（P＜0.05）. [Conclusion] On the foundation of conventional Western medical treatment，the use of Xinkeshu Tablets improves chest pain，chest tightness，and depressive symptoms in patients with heart failure complicated by depression，thereby enhancing quality of life. |
