Abstract:
Cervical dystonia(CD) is the most common type of adult-onset focal dystonia, which severely affects patients’ quality of life and work. As an important adjuvant treatment for CD,physical therapy(PT) can significantly relieve patients’ pain, restore their daily functions and improve their quality of life. At present, attention to PT for CD in China is relatively low, with relevant research rather limited. This paper systematically reviews the research progress of PT for CD,analyzes existing studies from the perspectives of intervention strategies and PT design, and discusses the research advances in non-pharmacological therapies of traditional Chinese medicine,so as to provide references for clinical practice and related research development.
