Abstract:
[Objective] To explore the research hotspots and current status of acupuncture in animal experiments for tumor therapy. [Methods] Relevant literature published up to March 20,2024,was retrieved from the CNKI,Wanfang, and VIP databases. CiteSpace software was used to generate knowledge maps and perform keyword co-occurrence,burst detection, and cluster analysis. [Results] A total of 202 articles and 234 keywords were included. The current research hotspots are acupuncture for managing tumor complications, specifically myelosuppression and cancer pain. Future trends are anticipated to focus on molecular targets and signaling pathways related to immune regulation. Regarding myelosuppression, acupuncture was found to enhance the expression of DNA repair-related proteins in bone marrow cells, thereby alleviating the condition. For cancer pain, electroacupuncture is the most common intervention, typically using a dense-disperse wave at 2/200 Hz with an intensity gradually increasing from low to high. Research in this area primarily focuses on the neural and immunomodulatory effects of electroacupuncture in mouse models of cancer pain. Moxibustion is the frequently used intervention for immune regulation, with studies concentrating on macrophages, lymphocytes, and NK cells. However, research on specific molecular targets and signaling pathways remains limited. [Conclusion] Utilizing CiteSpace to analyze keywords from the literature on acupuncture in tumor animal experiments effectively identified current research hotspots. This study offers a novel perspective on the field’s landscape, providing valuable insights and potential research methodologies for investigators in this area, thereby holding significant importance.
